The cattle operation
Registered Brahman and registered Hereford herds, bred toward the Golden Certified F-1 female. Bulls and replacement heifers offered for sale every year.

Two herds, one direction
Our Brahman herd genetics are made up from several strong industry leaders and we offer each year for sale, a select group of both registered and commercial bulls and heifers. Our Brahman, Herfords and F1 stock are based at our Medina, Uvalde & Frio county ranches.
At Big Drop Ranch, our commitment to excellence extends beyond Brahman genetics. Our hand-picked Hereford cow herd is the foundation for our Commercial and “Golden Certified” F1 program.
Our breeding programs use natural cover as well as AI and ET to ensure superior genetics are passed down. Big Drop Ranch is devoted to offering quality cattle to customers.
Bulls and heifers, every year

Hand-picked, and the foundation
The Hereford cow is the foundation for both the commercial and the Golden Certified F-1 programs. It is chosen for the female it makes to be a qualified cow.

The Top Tier the ABBA issues
A registered Brahman bull over a registered Hereford cow. When both sides carry their own association papers, the American Brahman Breeders Association certifies the female as Golden. That tier is what every animal born here is aimed at, these calves grow stronger, live longer, and produce more milk or meat.

Natural cover, AI and ET
Breeding programs use natural cover as well as AI and embryo transfer to ensure superior genetics are passed down. Big Drop Ranch is devoted to offering quality cattle to customers.

Bred to go to work
Golden Certified F-1 females are the product the operation is built to sell. Heat tolerance and hybrid vigour from the Brahman side, milk and disposition from the Hereford side, papers on both.
