The lodge
Built for guests rather than converted into it. Sleeps 14. Rooms for the whole party, one long table everybody eats at, and the part of the evening nobody ever wants to end.
Room for the whole party
Groups take the place as a whole — corporate parties, family reunions, and hunting groups who want the gate closed behind them. Meals are served at one table, and the day starts before light and ends around the fire.
Purpose built, and it shows
Bedrooms and bunk rooms that sleep a full party, common rooms with the mounts that came off this ranch, and a kitchen set up to feed everybody at once rather than in shifts.
Everybody eats in one room
One long table, home-style cooking, and the retelling of the morning that goes with it. Meals are part of a stay rather than an add-on.
For the whole group
A mix of private rooms and bunk rooms so a large party stays together on the place instead of splitting across town. Additional lodging can be arranged for larger groups.
Pool, patio and a fire pit
Shade and water for the middle of a Texas afternoon, and a fire ring under the oaks for after dark. October onward is the best of it. Bring a jacket.
